Mental Health

In Latino Commission we have various mental health programs.

We have our Medi-Cal based Systems of Care program (SOC) which is our outpatient center based mental health program where we provide mental health services to children, adults, and families. We have a team of licensed and associate therapists, a peer specialist, a parent partner, a rehab specialist, and a psychiatrist working together in providing services to our community.

We also have our school-based program (CVUSD), this is a mental health program in which we have assigned a therapist in each school from the Coachella Valley Unified School District to provide services to the students and their families.

Another mental health program is RCOE, Riverside County Office of Education. This is a school/community-based program where we have assigned therapists located in ten Care spaces across the county. In addition to these, we have the Regional Access Project Foundation to provide mental health services in the city of Blythe.

We also have our Desert Health Care Program which is mental health and “promotoras”; we work with a team of trainees to help them develop their skills to become associate therapists and with “promotoras” to promote mental health services and break the stigma.

In partnership with Riverside County Office of education (RCOE) RCLC is providing mental health services at 6 different CAREspace locations across Riverside County. CAREspace is part of the Mental Health Initiative put forth Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Edwin Gomez. The initiative aims at addressing the overall wellness needs of students and the community beyond the classroom.

Through our CAREspace program we are able to provide individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, case management, and referrals to adjunct services. Each location also offers staff trainings, parent workshops, and classroom presentations on a variety of wellness-related topics. Services are available at no cost, and they are offered in English and Spanish. Each CAREspace serves as a supplement to mental health programs and services offered throughout all 23 school districts in Riverside County.
